Biomechanical Evaluation: Gait Analysis

Oxford Physical Therapy Centers focus on function is demonstrated by our continual evaluation of the gait (walking) cycle.

When we evaluate your gait, we look at the body, not just the body part that is affected by injury. Your Oxford Physical Therapy Centers Physical Therapist will evaluate your foot in a "neutral" position as it appears when non-weight bearing. This indicates how the foot should appear when you are weight bearing. We skillfully evaluate your body mechanics, flexibility, strength, body type, and gait cycle. Video analysis is performed while you walk or run. The video analysis allows your Oxford Physical Therapy Centers Physical Therapist to breakdown every aspect of your gait and properly assesses your condition.

After information is gathered, an exercise protocol is prescribed that is specific to your needs. Additionally, we can work with your physician to fit you for orthotics and/or precisely match a proper shoe type with your injury.
