Dear Oxford Therapy Group:
I'm writing this to thank you for the superb service that you gave me during my recovery from a bicep tendon tear. I am a firefighter/paramedic and my injury occurred 10/7/06. It has been one nightmare after another until I changed doctors to Dr. Cha and Dr. Cha referred me to Oxford Physical Therapy.
My first physician of record put the wrong codes on my workers' compensation claim and was in to placing the injury on the wrong arm. This caused the BWC to deny my claim and I had to go to an Industrial Commission hearing to get my claim allowed. This all caused delayed my treatment and my surgery. After my surgery in March, the other physical therapy group that treated me would not listen to me when I told them I had pain in my elbow. They just continued with the course of treatment(like a robot) with the pain not easing up at all. I even completed an eight week rehabilitation plan still complaining of pain and no one would look into possible causes of my pain.
My job as a Firefighter requires 100 Lbs + of lifting and at that point, I didn't have much trust in anyone. I was thinking give up the job that I love and the only job I know how to do. Things seemed very dismal. That is when I changed my physician or record to Dr. Cha of Beacon Orthopedics. Dr. Cha quickly diagnosed the cause of my pain (tendonitis) and knew that it was important that I be treated by the best physical therapist. He recommended Oxford Physical Therapy. My first visit was a pleasant visit. On this visit, I meet this county boy named Scott. He explained everything to me. He gave me ideas on what to expect. He put me at ease. The entire staff is great. At this point I have a lot on the line, my career, my ability to provide for my family and my livelihood. My arm feels much better. My time is coming to the end at Oxford Physical Therapy in Fairfield, and I must say they are the best from the front desk to Scott, Becky (The best hands this east of the Mississippi) Tom, Kim, Angie. They have all been great.
I will definitely refer my friends and colleges to Oxford Physical Therapy if they are in need of physical therapy.
Best Regards,
Randy - Firefighter/Paramedic

Three years ago I had an unexplained pain in my right hip. I lived with the discomfort for about a year before seeking treatment. I went to my family doctor, he reccomended physical therapy. He also highly recommended Oxford Physical Therapy. On the direction of my physician, I called. I have had physical therapy in the past (at other facilities, both hospital and private) but have never received the level of care and commitment that I continue to receive at your facility. From the exceptional receptionists to the outstanding PTs and PTAs, I find myself recommending your facility whenever someone has a problem.
By chance my therapist Scott had an opening the day I needed. That chance encounter, I believe, has been a blessing. My case has not been the normal "here is the problem lets fix it". I was assessed by Scott and to my dismay he thought I may have a tear in my hip. But without proper tests we wouldn't know for sure. I finished my first few visits of therapy without much relief. I returned to my family doctor and upon his and Scott's recommendations I found myself on my way to an orthopaedic surgeon. After several tests and x-rays the surgeon did not believe I was a surgical candidate he actually dismissed me. By this time I had been unable to make my daily 2 hour commute from work without an ice pack. I had actually learned to drive with my left foot because I could not put pressure on my right leg.
Scott never stopped trying to figure out what was wrong with my hip. Several doctors, tests and even a chiropractor later I still was not any better and still had no diagnoses. But Scott never gave up, even after I wasn't his official patient, he would still listen to my complaints and direct me to possible solutions.
It was by chance that I met my new surgeon. I was was at a high school football game and saw Scott and his family. I stopped to say hello and he, as always, was concerned about my well being. He happened to be standing with an orthopaedic surgeon who was more than willing to listen to my ridiculous story. With Scott urging me to call I decided to try one more doctor. Thank goodness I did. The doctor took all my past tests reviewed them and agreed with Scott. I had a tear in my hip.
Finally progress. I have had surgery and am recovering quite well thanks entirely to a wonderful Physical Therapist, Scott Wright. Without his knowledge and compassion I still would be in a constant state of pain.

Dear OPT,
I saw your letter about emailing how a pt can change your life and Dan has done that for me.
About 2 yrs ago I had a horrible nerve pain shooting down my left arm. I was so desperate and after having sooooo many test done on me and medicines given to me by 5 different specialist I had seen it was a miracle I found Dan.
It had taken almost a year to reach this point and everyone was telling me they believe me but couldn't find a reason. After being referred to a pain management specialist who said the only thing left to do was make my own nerve pain cocktail I met Jody who referred me to Dan. It was the week between Christmas and New Years. I saw him on a Friday afternoon, which he stayed after his normal time to see me and said he knew what was wrong and if I would give him 3 months I would be o.k. I was feeling the blood circulate down my arm after the first visit.
Dan knows how much I appreciate him him and have sent several people his way. Since then I have come back to see Dan for other physical reasons and he is always very kind and caring to all his patients.
Thank you so much,
Tracy
