What is a Functional Capacity Evaluation?

A functional capacity evaluation (FCE) is a comprehensive, objective test of an individual’s ability to perform work-related and functional tasks.  The FCE is an integral part of the return to work process for work-related injuries.

Safe, reliable, valid, and useful in identifying the following:

  • Return to work safety and time frames

  • Job task modifications

  • Evaluation of an appropriate entry point in a work rehab program

  • Disability

Please note, an FCE is ideal for primary care doctors to assist in decisions related to work restrictions and/or the return to work process.

FCE patients will get an appointment quickly as we have early morning and evening appointments available. Listed below are the centers where FCE
